Suicide First Aid- 08.06.24 16.11.24

Join us for an online event that aims to provide valuable insights into suicide interventions.

This event is designed to empower you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively intervene in a suicide crisis.


Suicide First Aid is a comprehensive training program that addresses the challenging but critical need for suicide prevention in our communities.


Our experienced tutor will guide you through various strategies and techniques to provide immediate support and assistance to those in need.

The UK’s only externally accredited suicide prevention programme, on the Regulated Qualification Framework, this is the UK’s National Qualification in Suicide Prevention.


Course Content:

SFAUSI is comprised of 4 parts, each approximately 90 minutes duration.


The programme teaches and practices the skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide safety as a first-aid approach.

  • Stigma, Survivors of bereavement by suicide and the Hidden Toll
  • Suicide – the Ripple Effect
  • Suicide thoughts and suicide behaviour
  • Intention of behaviour Versus Outcome of behaviour

  • Population-based approach to suicide prevention
  • Partnership working
  • “I’m really glad you’ve told me” audio visual


Part 3

  • Meeting the needs of a person  ‘letting you know’
  • Suicide-Safety Guide
  • Step 1 – Recognising suicide and Asking about suicide
  • Step 2 – Understanding options


Part 4

  • Step 3 – Safeguarding suicide
  • Suicide-safety and self-care
  • The risk assessment approach?
  • Connecting after an intervention
  • Future learning


Methods Of Learning:

This is a 6 -hour (over two days) online course using tutor-facilitated class-based learning, tutor-led group work and audio-visual presentations.

Wellbeing & Resilience: A Practical Toolkit

 This 6.5 hour course helps employees create a plan with their employers to discuss and address their workplace wellbeing needs.


Course Overview:

This interactive workshop is designed to provide participants with the essential tools and knowledge to enhance their wellbeing and resilience in both personal and professional settings. 

It is rooted in the understanding that wellbeing is a skill that can be developed through consistent practice and awareness.


Course Content:

Introduction to Wellbeing and Resilience. 

Understanding the foundations of mental health, the concepts of wellbeing, and resilience, and their importance in our daily lives.

Identifying Stress and Burnout. 

Learning to spot the early signs of stress and burnout, understanding the effects, and strategies to mitigate them.

Personal Strategies for Wellbeing. 

Exploring personal coping mechanisms, the role of lifestyle choices, and creating a personal resilience plan.

Workplace Strategies for Resilience. 

Addressing workplace stressors, communication techniques with management, and advocating for a supportive work environment.

Role of Management in Employee Wellbeing. 

Empowering managers with the skills to support staff wellbeing, encourage open dialogue, and create a culture of wellness.

Developing a Personal Wellbeing Plan. 

Crafting personalised wellbeing plans with actionable goals, regular monitoring and adjustment strategies.

Confidentiality and Collaboration. 

Establishing a framework for confidentiality in discussions on mental health and fostering a collaborative workplace.

Adaptability and Continuous Improvement.

Encouraging adaptability in personal wellbeing strategies and commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Conversation Practice.

Participants get an opportunity to apply the concepts learned throughout the course in realistic scenarios, enhancing their communication skills in discussing wellbeing and resilience in the workplace.
